Light hood should be finished tomorrow evening, I'll post pictures when it's done. Big Smile

I only have one 250w MH bulb so only 1/3 of the tank will have light until I can pick up the other bulbs later next week. Sad

Yesterday I added in another 50lbs of LR into the 135g tank and also wired up one of the MH lights. I went with 2x12k and 1x10k bulbs.I'll wire up the other two this mornin so the entire lighting system is running on the tank. I do plan on getting some LED moon lights for evening viewing but for now I just leave a small lighting on at night.

Today I'll also move my skimmer and pumps into the bigger 55g sump that I have. Pictures tonight. Yes

So how much more live rock should I add?

The basic rule is 1 to 1.5 lbs of LR per gallon of water.

The tank is shaping up really good. Yes

One thing wrong with the basic rule is. The lighter the rock the less you need. The heaver the moor you need. I like 1/2 and 1/2, 1 part base, one part nice, as in light and pores.Cool

Got the lights installed yesterday. Yes

Got the ballast mounted for the lights and also moved everything into the bigger sump yesterday.

I took the basic measurments after the ligths where on for 9 hours and everything was fine except for pH. Iit was around 7.8.

More pictures tonight if I don't fall asleep. Embarrassed

I went with 2 x 12k and one 1 x 10k ReefLux Bulbs. I really like the looks of the 12k bulbs and thinking of changing the 10k bulb in the 65g to a 12k once I need to replace it.

Setup a fan behind the tank to blow air into one side the hood and out the other. Temp of tank was climbing to 81F+ and the fan stopped the temp climbing and started reducing the temp. The temp final sat around 78F with all 3 MH lights on.

Really happy so far with the dimmable Coralvue ballast that I got for the tank. The ballast are currently mounted directly behind the tank on the inside wall under the staircase but I plan on moving them to the opposite wall under the staircase. This will free up space so I can place a 55g fuge above the sump and have it drain directly into the 135g. That will be a winter project.

Ok, Next summer guys once I have corals in the tank. Big Smile

I have already put a mushroom in the tank from the 20g tank along with some fish. My move over from the 20g to the 65g tank is not complete. Still working on moving things over and I'll continue to move things over during this week. The measurments on the 135g tank are running great, the pH has come up to 8.0 since the lights have been running and all other measurments are reading 0.
