i was thinking of trying to find a smaller unit for a nano size tank. Like everyone else here, it's out of my price range for a large tank.

I really wanted this sick led light, was like 2 grand. but of course wife said no go. I hear they are great, and I have seen on our news that some people are using them to grow things that are not in fish tanks, hehe. Also the obvious, less heat and less energy. i want one but my 2 150w mh with 18 moonlights (9white, 9blue) seems to work well.

I was thinking of using LED if I setup the pico tank at work and was looking and the PowerBrite LED for the lighting source. You can check them out here. Click Here.

I thought they would work great. I would start off slow with some mushrooms and then move from that point.

That looks like a very cool light, wonder how well it would work on a 10gal tank or an evern large tank. If you read the reviews on those lights, someone had it running on a 75gal tank.
