    Cleaning powerheads

How do I clean my powerheads? Should I even care to clean them?

I'll try to help you but I never clean my power heads (my current tank is a little over 6 months old). To answer your first question I would use Water/Vinegar mix (about 1 cup of Vinegar to a gallon of water should do it). Let them sit in the solution for about an hour then rinse well. That should do it.

To answer your second question, I plan on doing mine every six months.

    135g Main Tank/ 125g Frag tank with 55g sump.

I use the water and vinegar mix, works well cleaning the powerheads and pump.

use the water/vinegar mix, rinse well and let it sit in the sun to dry. works for me every time.
